Webinar:
Achieving Success in Full Arch Immediate Loading
With the increased costs and patient morbidity due to bone grafting often required in full arch implant reconstructions, an increased patient resistance to implant treatment has been noted.
In such patients with suboptimal bone volume , bone grafts can be avoided & treatment can be optimized & accelerated by placing site specific angled implants and wider implants in available bone. With good primary stability these implants can also be loaded immediately with same day teeth for immediate reconstruction & immediate function .
This concept is in line with the late Professor P.I. Brånemark’s philosophy of
“Lesser Surgery to Treat More Patients”.
High treatment acceptance and patient satisfaction are the most important advantages of angled and wide implants in full arch immediate reconstruction cases .By avoiding bone grafting with the use of angled & wide implants placed in available native bone ,
the gain in time for the patient implies an economic & time benefit which is important especially for professionally and/or socially active patients.
At the end of this lecture delegates should be able to identify :
1) APPROPRIATE CASE SELECTION WHERE ANGLED & WIDE IMPLANTS CAN BE USED WITH:
a) Adequate available native bone & attached soft tissues.
b) High implant primary stability.
b) Appropriate implant number, length & diameter.
c) Appropriate implant distribution
d) Prosthodontically driven implant placement for screw retention
2) ADVANTAGES:
a) Reduction in treatment time.
b) Cost saving.
c) Immediate function.
d) Increased patient satisfaction.
e) High treatment acceptance.
3) Surgical Technique
4) Prosthodontic Technique
5) Complications & their Management
